Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed condolences to the family of veteran actor, filmmaker and screenwriter, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as “Ogogo”, who died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66.

Amosun, in a condolence message, commiserated with the deceased’s children, wives and the entire Hassan family over the loss.

He also extended his condolences to members of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) and the people of Ilaro, Ogun State, where the late actor hailed from.

Describing Taiwo Hassan as a respected figure in the Nigerian film industry, particularly the Yoruba-language film genre, Amosun said the actor’s career had left an indelible mark on the industry.

The former governor noted that “Ogogo” would be remembered for his creative expertise, dedication and passion for his craft, which endeared him to generations of Nigerian audiences.

Amosun said the late actor’s contributions had played a significant role in the growth and development of the Nigerian entertainment industry.

He urged the bereaved family, members of the ANTP and other mourners to draw strength from Hassan’s remarkable contributions and the enduring legacy he left behind.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannah Firdaus and give his family, colleagues and other mourners the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
