A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Hon. Waliu Taiwo, has called on the people of Ogun East and Central to support Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi's governorship ambition in 2027.

Taiwo, who is the Board Chairman of Caucus 7202, made the call at the inauguration of state and local government executives of the ‘Next Level Supporters Group in Ogun State’.

He described Yayi as a quintessential performer whose developmental strides are being enjoyed across the three senatorial districts in Ogun State.

He urged the people to disregard claims that Yayi is not from Ogun West, citing examples of past governors who faced similar challenges.

Taiwo noted that Yayi's projects in Ogun West are already benefiting Ogun East and Central, and that it is time for the people to reciprocate with support.

"The all-time saying is 'Yewa Lokan, Egba lo ma se'. Almost everybody is with Yayi. This time, by the grace of God, Ogun West is determined, and we have a formidable aspirant. We are ready, and as you can see, 2025 is getting to an end, and nobody is yet declaring aspiration for the number one seat from Ogun West.

“They are waiting for outsiders to sponsor them, but such will not happen because this time we will combine determination with persuasion to allow equity and justice to prevail."

The State Coordinator of the Next Level Supporters Group, Babatunde Sobowale, stated that the group was formed to champion Yayi's governorship ambition.

He described Taiwo as an experienced and well-exposed politician worthy of the Ogun West senatorial seat.

The newly inaugurated Ogun East Coordinator, Engr. Bolaji Ogunsanya, pledged the group's support for Yayi's ambition and Taiwo's senatorial bid, stating that they will work to ensure victory at the party level and general election.
