The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the recently conducted 2025 UTME resit examination for candidates impacted by the glitch in the exams earlier conducted.
In a statement signed by Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor to the Board and obtained by HorizonTimes, JAMB said all results are now released except for candidates who committed examination infractions and those slated for mop-up examinations.
The Baord further revealed that it has withdrawn some results of candidates earlier released but were later implicated through a recent discovery by security agencies.
JAMB also directed candidates with earlier released results to recheck their results, adding that candidates affected by the withdrawal are being notified through their profiles.
Of the 336,845 who were scheduled for the resit, JAMB said 21,082 were absent, adding that performance analysis remains consistent with results from the past twelve years.
The results were realeased following reviw by a sub-committee chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University, Prof. Olufemi Peters who is also the CEE FCT, and another revire exercise by an expert in psychometrics, Prof. Boniface Nworgu who was invited to analyse and endorse the results for subsequent release.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the recently conducted 2025 UTME resit examination for candidates at centres impacted by the unfortunate incident.
“All results are now released except those of candidates who committed examination infractions and those slated for mop-up examinations.
“While releasing the results, it should be emphasised that recent discoveries particularly by the security agencies have necessitated the withdrawal of some of the results of implicated candidates across the country whose results have been previously released.
“Candidates with earlier released results need not recheck their results as candidates affected by the withdrawal are being notified through text messages on their registered lines, their profiles and emails.”
JAMB also revealed that results of underage candidates earlier withheld has been resolved to be released as part of the healing process.
It added that the release is not for admission purposes.
“As part of the healing process, the meeting resolved that the withheld results of the under-aged candidates (except where litigation is involved) who performed below the established standards be released.
“Such result does not however qualify them for admission, as they had previously signed an undertaking during the registration process acknowledging that only those who meet the prescribed standards would be considered for under-aged special admission.”
On May 14, JAMB Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede revealed that the results of 379,997 candidates across 157 centres in the Lagos and South-East zones were compromised due to a technical glitch.
During the press conference, the Registrar burst into tears as he apologised for the error and confirmed that affected candidates would be required to retake the examination.
