Crescent University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, is set to make history on Wednesday, June 17, as it hosts its maiden Inaugural Lecture Series, marking a significant milestone in the institution's academic development.

The inaugural lecture, according to a statement issued by the Principal Assistant Registrar in charge of Public Relations, Idris Katib, will be delivered by Professor Rasaki Olufemi Kareem, a distinguished Professor of Resource and Development Economics.

The lecture is titled, "Resource Efficiency vs. Economic Development: Whither Nigeria?"

The theme of the lecture reflects growing national concern over the management of Nigeria's vast natural and human resources amid persistent developmental challenges.

According to the statement, rofessor Kareem is expected to examine the relationship between the country's abundant resource endowments and its economic trajectory, while offering insights into pathways for sustainable development.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, will chair the academic programme scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m. prompt at the Bola Ajibola Auditorium.

To ensure wider participation beyond the campus community, the university has also provided a Google Meet platform to enable virtual attendance by stakeholders from both the town and gown, underscoring the institution's commitment to expanding scholarly engagement and public discourse.
