INEC Begins Distribution of Sensitive Materials for Ondo South Bye-Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has commenced the distribution of sensitive electoral materials for the forthcoming Ondo South Senatorial District bye-election.
According to a statement issued by the Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity (VEP), Olayinka Ogunseye, the distribution exercise took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Akure.
The exercise covers the six Local Government Areas participating in the bye-election and was conducted in the presence of political parties, security agencies, accredited observers, civil society organisations (CSOs), and members of the public as part of efforts to ensure transparency and credibility in the electoral process.
INEC also extended invitations to members of the press and accredited media organisations to monitor and report on the distribution exercise.
The Commission stated that under the leadership of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, it remains committed to promoting public engagement and openness in all its activities to enhance transparency, participation, and public confidence in the electoral process.
Reaffirming the Commission's commitment to credible elections, the REC assured stakeholders that the outcome of any election in Ondo State would be determined solely by the votes cast by the electorate.
