The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the training of Revision Officers (REVOs) and Assistant Revision Officers (AREVOs) across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The training, conducted by the Commission’s Local Government Training Officers, is part of preparations for the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters and the commencement of the nationwide Permanent Voter Card collection exercise scheduled to begin on October 9, 2026.

The exercise, according to the Commission, is aimed at equipping the REVOs and AREVOs with the requisite knowledge, skills and operational procedures to effectively carry out their responsibilities during the PVC collection exercise at the Ward and Registration Area levels.

The officers are expected to play a key role in ensuring that the exercise is conducted efficiently and in accordance with the Commission’s established procedures.

The training also forms part of INEC’s broader preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the Commission seeking to strengthen its personnel and operational processes ahead of the electoral activities.

The Commission said the exercise underscored its commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient electoral process as preparations for the 2027 general election continue.
