Nigerians have been urged to specially protect the physically challenged individuals in the society and be willing to give them a sense of belonging at all times.

The Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Olalekan Adeleye stated this while appointing Adisa Isiaka, a physically challenged man as Special Assistant to his office.

Adeleye, who is representing Odogbolu State Constituency, said he was employing the deaf and dumb individual from Ogun Central senatorial district to direct attention to the needs of the physically challenged and the necessity to protect them.

He noted that the act would, in no small measure, restore the dignity of the physically impaired in the society.

In the appointment letter personally signed by the People's Democratic Party, PDP legislator, "Adisa Isiaka, a deaf and dumb person, and a staunch People’s Democratic Party (PDP) supporter is expected to resume duties on the 1st of May, 2024."

The letter reads: “I have the pleasure to inform you that you have been appointed as my Special Assistant, based on our previous discussion.

“The appointment is based on your knowledge, experience, personal quality of hard work, honesty, and absolute loyalty. I would expect you to utilize all these qualities in facing the challenges of your office to facilitate the attainment of our creative goals.

“Please, be informed that your appointment takes immediate effect”.

“Your duties shall include the usual duties of the office in which you are engaged and any other duties assigned to perform.

“This appointment may be terminated by giving you one month’s notice in writing or by paying you one month’s salary instead of the notice. Kindly know that this appointment will automatically lapse when the tenure of the 10th assembly comes to an end in Jun 2027”.

Hon. Lukmon Adeleye in the past had made ten appointments of aides, as a means of political participation and empowerment to his constituent members.
