Segun Aina has officially assumed office as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, succeeding Ishaq Oloyede after the expiration of his two-term, 10-year tenure.

Aina took over leadership of the examination body on Friday at JAMB's headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.

His appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was announced on May 21, 2026, when he was 39 years old.

Having turned 40 before assuming office, he is now the youngest person ever to serve as JAMB Registrar.

In announcing the appointment, the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described Aina as a distinguished academic and systems expert with extensive experience in national examination systems, digital infrastructure and public-sector institutional reform.

In his inaugural address, Aina pledged to preserve the integrity of JAMB and intensify the deployment of modern technology to combat examination malpractice.

He warned those involved in examination fraud to abandon the practice, declaring that "their business is in a wrong institution."

The new registrar also assured that JAMB would continue to work closely with security agencies to strengthen the credibility and integrity of its examinations.
