The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has unveiled plans to mobilise 20,080 party agents and 200,800 grassroots mobilisers ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This, the party said, is part of efforts to strengthen its organisational structures and support its presidential and governorship candidates.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Adesina Olanrewaju, amid reported disagreements among some ADC leaders in the South-West over the involvement of established party structures in activities surrounding the party's presidential candidate.

Reacting to the report published by a newspper, the Ogun State chapter acknowledged that differences in opinions, expectations and approaches were normal in political organisations.

It however stressed the need for consultation, inclusion and coordination among stakeholders.

It also cautioned against interpreting grievances expressed by individuals as the collective position of party members in Ogun State or across the South-West.

According to the statement, the immediate priority of the Ogun chapter, under the leadership of its State Chairman, Otunba Dr. Patrick Oluwafemi Soluade, is to strengthen the party's organisational capacity through effective coordination, stakeholder engagement, membership consolidation and the development of functional structures across the state.

The chapter explained that its target of 20,080 party agents and 200,800 grassroots, ward and polling-unit mobilisers was designed to ensure effective representation and coordination for its presidential and governorship candidates, as well as other candidates across Ogun State.

It noted that achieving the targets would require sustained planning, cooperation among party stakeholders, appropriate training, resource coordination and active participation of members.

On the reported internal disagreements, the party maintained that legitimate concerns bordering on consultation and recognition of established party structures should be addressed through constructive engagement and appropriate party channels.

It added that the strength of the ADC should be reflected in its ability to accommodate constructive opinions, address legitimate grievances and maintain effective communication among its various organs.

"No member or stakeholder should feel that legitimate organisational concerns cannot be expressed or addressed," the statement said.

It urged members to handle such concerns with responsibility, mutual respect and regard for established party procedures.

The Ogun chapter further reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant party organs and stakeholders while respecting the roles and authority of the national and zonal leadership.

It urged members, stakeholders and supporters to remain actively involved in the affairs of the party, seek clarification through appropriate channels and contribute constructively to its organisational development.

The statement listed the Chairman of the Elders Forum, Chief Alani Opaleye, former South-West Chairman, Hon. Razak Eyiowuawi, and the 20 local government chairmen among the party leaders involved in its organisational efforts.

It assured the public of its commitment to transparent communication, internal cohesion and institutional responsibility as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
