No fewer than 15 people have been killed in separate attacks by suspected terrorists in three local government areas of Plateau State.

Nine of the victims were passengers travelling to Jos when gunmen opened fire on their vehicle at Dungus community in Jos South Local Government Area on Sunday night.

The attack occurred around 9:40 p.m., according to the spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang Tengwong.

Tengwong said some passengers sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to hospitals, where some later died.

He added that a member of Operation Rainbow was among those killed.

A resident, Musa Dauda, also confirmed that some of the injured passengers died while receiving treatment, while others remained hospitalised.

Meanwhile, two people were reportedly killed and four others injured when suspected terrorists attacked Vodni in Pushit District of Mangu Local Government Area.

In a separate attack at Tahoos in Riyom Local Government Area, two other people were reportedly killed around the same period.

The Plateau State Police Command and Operation Enduring Peace had yet to respond to enquiries on the attacks at the time of filing the report.
